Overview

The OGRCC partners with Food Explorers each season to offer unique, hands on cooking classes. Recipes are nut free but may contain dairy and/or eggs. The students will improve their basic cooking skills each week. The price includes all supplies and food.

This Fall, join Food Explorers for delicious Holiday Desserts! Each week, you’ll make a dessert inspired by favorite holiday flavors and foods. You’ll be making Cannoli Pies, Churro Mini Donuts, Sugar Cookie Dip, and Candy Cane Trifles. All recipes are nut-free but may contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.

Chocolate Confections class for Winter 2025 will be held on the four Thursdays in January.  The class will celebrate all things chocolate!  Kids will be making a new recipe each week including Chocolate Pancake Tacos, Chocolate Mini Donuts with Chocolate Glaze, Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake Cups, Chocolate Orange Pies.

We do not hold cooking classes in the spring but will offer Summer Camp.  All information will be on the website in January 2025.  Registration begins Feb. 3rd.

Exploring food encourages children to learn through sensory experiences, hands-on activities and working together to create delicious results.

Food Explorers provides children with the knowledge to make healthy choices for themselves. By combining nutrition education with cooking and hands-on food exploration, you’ll have a Food Explorer in no time!

About Us

The Old Greenwich – Riverside Community Center (OGRCC) offers one of the most comprehensive community youth and adult recreational, athletic, educational and social programs. Our offerings range from art, baseball, cooking, basketball, dance, field hockey, film, rugby, soccer, and tennis. We also offer camps and special clinics by season.
