Greenwich Men’s Rugby will open the season this weekend at home versus New York Rugby Club; the match will be held on Saturday, August 17, at 1pm at Greenwich High School Field #7. As per tradition, the home team will host a social with food and refreshments after the match at the Pilsudski Society of Greenwich (POG).
The first match of the season is usually a time to knock off the rust and provide an opportunity for all players to showcase their skills and earn a starting spot. While the roster is currently composed of a core group of players built over the last four years, there are a few new athletes looking for their big break. Over the last several weeks, the team has been training hard and the players are focused on winning the first match in front of our friends and fans. Throughout the practice sessions, Coaches Dan Pazio and Saleem Begg were impressed with the intensity and precision the players brought to each drill.
