This spring, we were thrilled to have a Greenwich High School senior join us as an intern supporting our baseball program. Tommy Healey was a former OGRCC baseball player learning the fundamentals early by playing recreational baseball, Thunder Baseball, and our Cal Ripken program. He was kind to share how the program has positively impacted so many GHS baseball careers. He also shared quotes from his teammates. Thank you all for sharing.

We look forward to shaping and inspiring many more young players!

From Tommy Healey:
Clearly, Thunder, Cal Ripken, and Greenwich all-stars played a considerable role in our lives and baseball careers. From a young age, we were able to make friendships that lasted up and through high school while gaining a wealth of baseball knowledge and, most importantly, having an unreal amount of fun. Everyone always looked forward to going to thunder practice and games, and there was a certain atmosphere that felt different and more welcoming than other programs. Over three-quarters of the Greenwich Varsity Baseball Team played thunder, including all four captains. It allowed us to grow up together and create an unbreakable chemistry that led us to an FCIAC regular-season title and very strong FCIAC and state playoff runs. To this day, we continue to talk about our numerous memories as a part of the OGRCC, including our district championship, strong Cooperstown runs, and all the magic in between.
