The Old Greenwich Riverside Community Center (“OGRCC”) held its annual membership meeting on September 14, 2021. At the meeting, the present members of OGRCC voted to install its next class of Board of Directors who will serve a two-year term, acknowledged those who are still serving a current term and recognized those Directors who are departing from the Board.
Those serving a new, two-year term are: Jenny Allen, Raymond Floyd, Jr., Emily Goodman, Neile Messer, John Montgomery, Jeff Murphy, Angie Schmidt and Sarah Sippel. Those Directors who are continuing his/her current term are: Augusto Carrizo, Tom Healy, Mariano Lozano, Bill Murphy, David Rafferty, Katie Vadasdi and Andrew Yu.
Departing from the Board of Directors of the OGRCC this year is Angie Hartofilis. Angie served on the OGRCC Board for the past four years and has been a member of the organization for nearly a decade. Bill Murphy, the Interim President of the Board, shared that “…over the past several years, Angie’s service to the baseball program and to developing a sense of community within the OGRCC was unmatched. Angie will be missed but she will forever remain a member of the OGRCC family and an integral part of the community.”
Earlier in the year, the Board committed itself to assess its current structure and underwent an internal strategic planning initiative to fill vacant roles, strengthen its expertise with new members of the Greenwich community, and to formalize its Board structure with high functioning Committees. The OGRCC and its Board highlighted the need for new directors to have expertise in real estate, medicine, and education, to name a few, to complement that already strong and diverse background of its existing Directors. After an extensive process of vetting new candidates, the Board unanimously voted to install six new directors in the late spring to join its Board. The new Directors are Jenny Allen, Raymond Floyd, Jr., Emily Goodman, Tom Healy, Mariano Lozano, and Katie Vadasdi. Brief biographies of each of the new Directors are listed below.
