To our OGRCC members,

As the end of 2020 draws near, we would like to thank all our volunteers, partners, members, and the community at large, for your tremendous support and perseverance in an unforgettable year.

As we reflect on the year, we are proud of our collaborative efforts to safely and effectively bring back many of our programs during this pandemic. 2020 was filled with many unforeseen challenges leading us to adapt, shift, and act within this new normal we are all faced with each and every day. Thanks to strong guidance and protocols, hundreds of participants returned to our various sports and programs safely during the summer and fall seasons. COVID-19 rules were in place on the field, including wearing masks, social distancing, safety signage, contact tracing forms, and monitors to facilitate sanitation and the enforcement of protocols. This tremendous attention to detail and cooperation from the OGRCC membership paid off and gave the community the much-needed activities outdoors!

This year also marks the end of an era as Kirk Schubert, President of the OGRCC Board, is stepping down after 22 years of service on the OGRCC Board and many more as an active member, parent, and coach within the organization. Kirk has been integral to the fabric of the OGRCC community, and his steadfast leadership will be missed. On behalf of the entire OGRCC staff and Board, we would like to thank him for his tremendous dedication and commitment.

In honor of Kirk’s passion and enthusiasm for volunteering, we are announcing the Schubert Award – an award of excellence dedicated to a volunteer who exemplifies service above and beyond any other – of which he will be the inaugural recipient! Please join us in congratulating Kirk and thanking him for his incredible service to the OGRCC and the community.

During this transition, Bill Murphy will serve as the interim President of the OGRCC Board through June 30, 2021, or earlier if a successor is named.

Finally, we would like to remind you that the OGRCC is a non-profit organization. We rely on funds to help support our youth scholarships and various programs each year. We encourage you all to take advantage of the expanded deductibility this year under the CARES Act and make your contribution prior to December 31, 2020. Click here to donate today.

Again, thank you for your continued support. May you and yours enjoy a happy and safe holiday season. Cheers to 2021!

With gratitude,

Tom Casazzone
