Dear OGRCC members,

On behalf of the OGRCC, I would like to warmly welcome all of our youth program participants at the start of this fall season.

As we kick off this exciting time of year, we want to assure our valued members that we are working tirelessly to provide the best possible experience for everyone involved. However, we do recognize that there may be some challenges we encounter along the way, particularly with regard to weather and field & court availability.

We understand that cancellations can be frustrating, and we ask for your patience as we navigate these factors that are outside of our control. We take great care to avoid canceling games & programs whenever possible, but we must also prioritize the safety of our young athletes and the condition of our fields. Sometimes, this means we must make difficult decisions at the last minute.

Also, please note that the majority of fields we play on are controlled by the Town of Greenwich (with exceptions being for Greenwich Catholic School and Stanwich School/GCDS campus). Thus, the Town of Greenwich decides about field availability and disseminates information via the Town Weather Hotline — usually by noon on weekdays and 7 AM on weekends.

Despite these challenges, we are committed to doing everything possible to ensure our youth members have a memorable and enriching sports season. We appreciate your understanding and support as we make the necessary adjustments and accommodations.

Thank you for your continued investment in the OGRCC community and for entrusting us to provide a positive environment for youth development.

Warmly,

Jen Ludington
Executive Director
